Tally Privacy Policy

Effective 22 September 2026

Tally is a personal finance application developed and published by ByteLo. In the current version, your financial records are stored on your device and are not uploaded to a Tally account or cloud service. If optional cloud services are introduced, this policy will be updated to explain what data is transmitted, stored, and protected.

Information stored on your device

Tally stores transactions, notes, wallets, budgets, categories, recurring-payment details, split-bill participants, preferences, and backup history in local application storage. Tally does not require an account.

Backups and files

Manual and automatic backups are created only when you use those features. Exported files may remain in a location you select and remain under your control. Imported files are read only when you choose to restore Tally data.

Device authentication and notifications

When app lock is enabled, authentication is handled by your device. Tally does not receive or store your PIN, fingerprint, facial-recognition data, or other biometric information. Reminders are scheduled locally, and you may choose to hide financial amounts in notifications.

Advertising and third parties

Tally displays advertisements using Google Mobile Ads. Depending on your device, region, and consent choices, Google may collect or process IP addresses, device identifiers, application interactions, and diagnostic information to deliver, secure, personalize, and measure advertisements. Data transmitted by Google Mobile Ads is encrypted in transit.

Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Tally does not sell or rent your financial records.

Permissions and your choices

Tally may request notification, device-authentication, file-access, and network permissions for related features. You may deny optional permissions, hide balances, disable app lock, export your data, or clear all local Tally data from Settings.

Retention and deletion

Local records remain on your device until you delete them, clear Tally's application data, or uninstall the app. Exported backup files are not removed automatically and must be deleted separately from their saved locations.

Age requirements and policy changes

Tally is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. This policy may be updated when Tally's features, data practices, or legal requirements change. The effective date will be revised whenever this policy is updated.
